Unexplained Swelling Around Eyes Appearing at Random Times?

Hi,
Two days ago I washed my bed sheets. The next morning I wake up with an oddly shaped bag under my left eye and a bag above my right eye. I thought I just slept on my head weirdly. The swelling eventually went away during the day.
Then that night I laid down on my bed to read and within three minutes, my right eye lid swelled up. There were little bumps in the swelling. By now I figure I might have an allergic reaction to the newly-washed sheets. So I took the pillowcase off and reversed the bedding. I also ate an allergy tablet.
The next morning the swelling had gone down quite a bit. I was fine in a few hours.
Then in the afternoon, while walking down the street, all of a sudden, a swelling started to form under my right eye. Again, I noticed some bumps in the swelling.
Anyone has any idea what's going on? It seems to appear and disappear on its own. Thank you so much!
I'd go to a doctor but I'm travelling and I really don't want to go to the emergency room for this...

I don't wear makeup at all. I can't think of what I could be allergic to walking down the street? I have been going down the same path for the past two months. This is very bizarre!

allergic reaction.

Keep a journal of what you eat, plants or animals to which you came in close proximity, and any make-up, lotions, creams or soaps that you use.

take your antihistamines regularly, then see your doctor when you get home. This is obviously an allergic reaction to something, your doctor will have to test to find out what it is.

do you wear eye makeup. it could be mascara. that has happened to me before and it ended up being my mascara.
