The way you asked the question... yes

There is little likelyhood of catching an STD, since the name implies sexual contact.
But as far as 'other diseases'.
There are countless numbers of bacteria EVERYWHERE, which includes toilet seats. If you were sit on the seat with an open sore, there is a possibility of catching something.
If there was 0 possibility... they would not provide those seat protectors everywhere.

Only if you get very intimate with it. It would have to be someone well, you know, all over the seat. You come in next, and it's still warm on the seat. Somehow it gets into you. Does this seem like something you'd be putting into yourself?

they are called sexually transmitted diseases because that is how they are transmitted.

stds have to have a specific environment to live, a toilet seat isn't one of them.

NURSE LADY IS WRONG.

You can absolutely catch crabs off a toilet seat.

So AIDS, Herpes, etc...not likely...but crabs...YES.
