I need an exercise plan to lose weight. I'm 15, 5'3 and 120 lbs. I don't live near a gym so I can't work out there and I hate running. For equpiment I have a rowing machine, some weights and a jumprope. I just have trouble starting out cause I don't know how long to do each exercise for, how many days and how hard. I'm eating healthy (1300-1500 cal.) and drinking plenty of water. I just need help getting started when working out. Thanks!!

First of all, if you're a teen, you shouldn't use the same caloric guidelines that adult women use. You need way more calories than adult women do, so eat what you want while you can. Second, if you're 5'3 and 120 lbs, you don't need to lose any weight, you just need to dress in a way that suits your body type and learn to accept your body as is. Your BMI is well in the average range, you are the textbook definition of a healthy weight for your height. Thirdly, if you want to get Fit (totally different from losing weight, but will make you look more toned and feel healthier), you should focus on lean protein/fruits/veggies in your diet (but don't cut out carbs completely), and find a balanced workout that incorporates cardio (with a raised heartrate) for at least 30 minutes and weight training (which will not only build and tone muscle, but will also raise your basal metabolic rate meaning that you burn more calories just by sitting around). Preferably you'd do this three to five times a week.

But in terms of starting out? You could get a single personal training session, and get the trainer to show you some exercises you can do without equipment. You could get an exercise video to follow along with if you're comfortable with that.

Being healthy is great, and you'll sleep better and have more energy. But it doesn't sound like you need to lose weight at all. If you really feel fat at your current weight, I'd advise you to talk to a psychologist or counselor.

In general, do each exercise until you get tired. Then the next time, do it a little longer.

Set the rowing machines to a medium-light setting. Then do the exercise for as long as you can. Then the next day do a little longer. When you get up to around 45 minutes, increase the tension and start over.

Same with the jump rope. Be sure you're "skipping" rope to burn calories, not violent jumping. If nothing else, you're working your legs good on the rowing.

Weights - you want to do a lighter weight, more repetitions. So find a weight that you can do about 10 times before you have to stop. Then work your way up to 20 reps, and then increase the weight a little. Do three sets of repetitions on each exercise each day. Try not to work the same parts every day - work arms/chest one day, then legs/back the other.

Odds are, if you hate to run, you probably need to run. If you don't want to do it because it hurts your knees or back or something, that's fine. If you just don't like doing it, then you probably need to. Same as everything else - jog as long as you can, and then the next day do it a little more.

Two weeks probably isn't enough time to lose a lot of weight. You've got to be patient and stick with it. But if you give it some time, you should see results.

if you lose any more weight could be dangerous and being 120 is the perfect weight for your heighth and it is not healthy to try to lose a lot of weight in a short period of time you will only end up by having your body shut down on you. Stay the way you are. Do exercises to tone up your muscels and you will feel better about yourself do crunches lift weights with a unopened vegetable can to tone up the fllab under your arm and you will not think you are not fat because it will be muscel instead of flab.

The best way to lose weight is doing exercise.

The best type of exercise for weight loss is something you ENJOY DOING and are likely to continue doing - not just while losing weight but also as you maintain weight in the long term.

Your initial fitness goal should be to do 30 minutes of exercise each day. Thereafter, gradually increase this (ideally) to about 60 minutes of exercise per day.

The best combination of exercise is a mixture of aerobic and weight/strength training (and stretching). Aerobic and weight/strength training exercises both assist weight loss but in different ways.

Jump rope is a great exercise. Try biking too. If you really want to lose some weight that should be the motivating factor. If it's not, then maybe you don't want to lose weight as bad as you think you do.

start off simple with 20 sets of rowing, wait 1 minute and do another 20 sets, every week increasing your sets. Weights are good to do lunges with, and the jumprope, do it til you can't anymore, but count how many times you can do it. And each week increase it by 10.
