Girls, is it the norm for women to shave their pubic region or do most not bother, unless you are going on holiday or swimming etc.

Lads do you prefer:

The Shaven Raven
The Runway
The Overgrown Hedge (with the odd spider leg)
The Amazon Rainforest

Just curious and it will also help settle an argument between mates!!!

One American man weighing in here: it has been fashionable for [North American] women to shave or trim their pubic regions since about 1995. Twelve years later, a whole generation has grown up with the expectation that beautiful women are shaved, based on what they have seen in various magazines who purport to showcase the pinnacle of female beauty. It's sort of a self perpetuating cycle, not likely to change until a few notable celebrities of both genders come out against it. I only bring this up to show that shaved/trimmed is a relatively recent phenomenon, and that for most, if not all, of the 20th century it was much more exotic than expected. My best guess is that it's tied in to the notion (probably hawked by the beauty industry the same way that the notion that an expensive diamond engagement ring is a necessity was hawked by the de Beers diamond co. in the 1940's) that a woman is only beautiful if she has been heavily modified. I can't tell what any of your fanciful terms mean except the shaven one, but my personal preference is for a natural, womanly region in all it's lush glory. Trimmed reminds me of declawed cats, hobbled horses and sports cars with electronic governors. On a good day, shaved makes me think of plastic dolls; on a bad day it gives me the creepy feeling that maybe she's not really 18 after all.

Cheers

In the US most younger women and girls shave and increasingly the trend is to shave it bare.

All hair other than on the scalp is caused by MALE hormones and the most feminine women have hair only (apart from the scalp) under the arms and on the labia, and only a little at that.

Most women in the US prefer to at least have the appearance of being as feminine as possible.

In most other countries women are somewhat less hairy anyway and in many parts of Asia are pretty well devoid of body hair.

Prefer the smart but casual look. Shaven to severe. Burst mattress look only preferred by the French I have heard

I'm a guy, I prefer either shaved or neatly trimmed. If you're going to shave, get it all and NEVER have stubble b/c stubble hurts! If you don't feel like shaving everyday, keep it short.

I don't like it all thick and crazy to the point you can't even get to her body, but I really hate the Landing Strip/Runway. I just think it looks really weird to be so smooth, then all that hair poking out the middle.....Absolutely hate it, refuse to touch it. Can't really explain WHY I hate it so much......

As a woman I think its best to keep it nice and trim.....if you and your mate want to explore then the strip is goog. If you shave it all it can get a bit itchy when it grows back. I think guys would rather have a nice trim yard then a rats nest....at least thats what I have heard!

I am a man and I love the completely shaven look, or the runway (if necessary) if it is a very short haired runway!
