I think you can use acetone to dissolve superglue...(or maybe try nail polish remover) -- But be careful, this may also damage the finish of your refrigerator.

I'd test it in an inconspicuous area first.

It depends entirely upon the finish of your refrigerator!

The three most common are a) an enamel type finish, b) a plastic type finish, and c) stainless steel.

If you've got a hard enamel or stainless finish, you can use the acetone / nail polish remover / debonder with confidence... problem solved.

HOWEVER -- if you have a fridge with a soft plastic finish (they're often textured), the acetone in any of these is likely to damage the plastic. At that point, you'll surely want to check it someplace inobvious (e.g., bottom of the door edge) to assure it doesn't soften and melt the plastic. If it does, you've got yourself one bugger of a problem since the SuperGlue is likely well bonded to the plastic. Trying to chip it off with a thumbnail will tell if there's any hope of removing it mechanically.

Hobby stores that sell radio controlled airplane supplies sell a stuff called "de-bonder".

Acetone is not always the best solvent to use for everything, though some think it is. Not in this case.

EDIT

De-bonder is NOT acetone. It is Nitromethane, and a little acetone. If you should get any kind of methyl-acrylate (superglue) on your skin, the best solvent is soapy water (yes-Water IS a solvent)

Yes, in this case acetone is the best solvent. If hobby stores sell something called "de-bonder" for super-glue, it probably is just a fancy marketing package of an acetone mixture.

People have recommended acetone, but be careful. It is harsh, and you don't want to breathe the fumes.

Nail polish remover has acetone in it, but it is weaker than the pure stuff.
