Actually, I find a lot of the jokes on here about Christianity to be quite hilarious! I can't speak for all Christians, but I can certainly take a joke. Aw, geez, there was a funny one on here earlier today, actually. Oh, I remember: If God is all knowing, didn't He foresee that the rainbow would be the symbol for the gay community?

LOL. :-)

God wants to be happy, and we do not go to hell for laughing.

I can laugh at some jokes about my faith, it is just the ones given out of hate and ignorance that I do not find funny.

Would you laugh at a joke that was given about you out of hate or ignorance? Say you are short or fat or thin, or you have a mole on your face, or you are poor, or you are a recovering drug user or alcoholic, or you clothes, or your girlfriend, or your funny beard? What if your mother was in a wheel chair and people made jokes about her?

Would joking about ANY of the above in a vengeful way make you laugh?

We are human also.

Peace be with you.

So much for Atheist Love and Tolerance.

You don't 'go to hell' for doing something wrong. we, as Christians, do not believe in making fun of our religion because while to others it may just be a joke, to us some jokes are irreverent and/or sacreligious. For instance, saying things like "Oh my God!" Is using God's name as an expression, which is something he has commanded us not to do in the Bible. Therefore we also try to avoid jokes about our religion- it is serious to us, not funny.
If I were an Atheist or even just not into religion, I would still treat Christians and people of all other religions and beliefs with the same reverence and respect I would want if I had different beleifs.

Who says God doesn't have a sense of humour?

There's joking and then there's joking. I know a lot of Christians who crack jokes about "Christians" in general. I watch the Simpsons, and they tend to joke a lot about religion -- Christianity not being exempt.

I think it's funny. Organized Religion should be made fun of. A person's personal spiritual beliefs should not.

No- you will not go to Hell if you laugh about a religion.
Sometimes the jokes people make, can be mean, like making funn about your religion, but if you laugh, thats totally Fine :)

Let us all in on your little 'joke'. God wants everyone to be happy. I don't believe in hell, so "no" I won't go to hell for having a good time. I don't conform to "religion" either.

Some things aren't funny... Humor has to have some basis in fact or it's really not funny. Tell me a funny joke and I'll laugh! :) Most of the Christians I know LOVE to have a good time and we're happy to laugh at something if it's funny.

Hey, post a joke or two and I'll let you know if they're funny!

Why can't Christians take a joke about Christianity? That they cannot, or let's say, that many cannot, is indicative of uncertainty--they simply aren't sure that the broad range of obvious fairy tales could possibly be true. It does take a leap, doesn't it? Talking snake, talking donkey, human sacrifice, incest, genocide, slaughter of innocent children, etc. Some Christians, such as the fundamentalists, compensate by being over-zealous, over-defensive, and excessively pious.

Depends on the joke. If it demoralizes the religion or makes fun of God, that's one thing, but, a good ol' joke ain't that bad to me! If you could give a "for example" maybe someone could pin out exactly why THAT particular joke was bad.
