Why not keep big plastic boxes in the back of your car !
Put your groceries back in your chopping cart ( no plastic , or paper bags please ) and put your groceries in the boxes in your car . The boxes can be used ( for ever ! ) isn't it a good way to stay away from all the paper and plastic bags ??

Yes, that's a good idea. You also could use cloth bags to load your groceries in...it would be easier to carry then, and you could still re-use the bags.

It would work until one of the plastic boxes breaks apart and needs to be thrown out and replaced. You can use cardboard boxes that recycle and or disintigrate faster when trashed. You could, as many people do, use canvas bags.

And they would be heavy... but it would certainly work for some people.
