Before anyone burns me in effigy this is pure speculation on my part. But when Lil E signed on with Hendrick you didn't hear from Jeff right away, only Jimmy. Then when you did pretty much all Jeff would say is Rick called and consulted him about bringing LIl E in.That led me to believe there is something being left unsaid.Like maybe Gordon has a part of the newest teammate ownership wise.I'm speculating the reason its not formally announced is the same reason weve had a zillion posts on here with upset Dale fans getting use to his new deal,if you tossed in what I suspect,WHEW Katy bar the door. What do you fans think?

Burn you in Effigy? But I thought you were in Arizona.....

Jeff only has part of Jr in the sense that he's 25% owner of HMS.
If anybody's qualified to be a consultant when it comes to signing talent, it's Jeff. He knows it when he sees it.
Jeff had a large say in the signing of such HMS drivers as Craven & Nadeau (both up & comers before wrecks shortened their respective careers...) and Jimmie Johnson.

Gordon is more then a Driver at Hendricks; he is part owner of the Team and owner of the #48 Team. For Rick not to consult Jeff would be very unprofessional and also very unethical from a business stand point. Of course some Fans try to paint in that Gordon is being some kind of a snob; but that is the furthest thing from the truth.

Most Hendricks insiders know that Gordon and Earnhardt Sr and Jr. are close Friends and Business Partners. Gordon and Lil E have always had a very friendly relationship and his addition to Hendricks was exactly what Gordon wanted as a Driver, Owner, and Friend.

Due to all the new regulations for team ownership you know that Jeff has a percentage stake in HMS.
It's the same reason why Roush joined with Fenway, each car can be under a different owner name to get around NASCAR's ownership rules.

So I don't know who's name will be on the car as the owner when the season starts, but in the end, no matter WHAT HMS car visits victory lane Jeff Gordon will see money out of the winnings since he's a % holder at HMS. Just like he does right now.

For those who think they know it all, Jeff Gordon DOES have partial ownership in HMS. He has had this ownership for about 3 years to date. Hendrick made it public with an announcement sometime in May of 2004. He is lised as the owner of the 48 and don't be surprised to hear that he will be listed as the owner of Little E's ride. It has nothing to do with Katy bar the door. It's just good business sense by Hendrick. Little E fans may as well SUCK IT UP because with the contract Jr signed, he will be around for awhile. His sister is nothing more than his agent and has no financial gain or loss in any of this. It's all business.

Jeff is a minor owner in HMS so he does own a piece of JRs contract.

JR has complete control of his name on fan related products thru JR Motorsports.

Hendrick and Jeff are partners in the company that controls Jeffs and all other HMS drivers fan related products.

I believe with Rick Hendricks health history and the death of his son that Jeff will probably be taking over the management of HMS if anything happens to Rick.

I don't know. He could have some ownership but I don't think he will have that much. As for Jeff not saying anything he will probably announce along with Rick if he is owning part of Junior's ride.

Jeff Gordon RULES!!!

As you state, this is pure speculation but I don't think Gordon would get a stake in Jr's team. He already has a lifetime contract and is part owner of Jimmie's car. I'm pretty sure with what Jr is getting for his services that there isn't any pie left for Jeff to get a piece of. I'll bet that Jr has negotiated a pretty sweet deal knowing the amount of merchandise that he is going to sell after the big switch. What I do wonder is if Jeff will get the same percentage of his merchandise sales as what Jr is going to get?

Hmmm intetesting concept.. and the only way we could be sure is to have it in writing but.. makes you wonder doesnt it? And why would they have to consult Jeff on anything the ownership did if they are owner? Should not have anything to do with jeff unless he was in that compacity somehow.
Jeff with a pieice of Jr.. now you have me thinking what piece. hmmmmm

I think the only way Jeff has any part of Jr.'s package is if JG has an ownership share in HMS as a whole. I know he co-owns Johnson's car (the 48), but I've never heard anything about his having an ownership share in HMS as a whole.

If you watched the news when this first happened, Lil E and RH said that they had had a contract together since Dale was like 15 or something. I've also heard that Sr and jeffy have had dealings in the past...and I'm not talking on track dealings.....more like race team dealings, or property dealings....I wasn't privy to teh exact details. So, I'd say that jeffy had some say-so in RH having Li'l E join HMS. How much say-so, I don't know.
