If I held a pound of human fat in my hands, how big would it be? I've heard that a pound of fat is about the size of 1 lbs of butter, but that doesn't seen right because a stick of butter appears to be a lot denser than the fat in your body.

Should be very similar. In the human fat, there is other tissue around it that is part water. Its warmer and softer. Warm up that stick of butter to 98 degrees and it will be a lot softer than straight out of the fridge.

not sure of the physical size, but its equal to 3,500 calories. Therefore, if someone cuts out 3,500 calories over the course of a week, they will have lost 1 pound by the end of that week. That's 500 fewer calories a day. Losing 1-2 lbs a week is considered safest. Dont know if youre dieting or not, just thought i'd add that in there for those like me who are.

God Bless!

Muscle is about 30% more dense than fat so a pound of fat is 30% bigger than pound of lean meat (look in food store how big is that)
