I just got my oil changed on my Ford 500, and the guys at Jiffy Lube didn't change the message on the Trip Computer that says "Change Oil." I've looked in the manual, I've searched online, and I still have no idea. Does anyone else??

How To Reset the Oil Life / Oil Change Reminder

Oil Life/Oil Change: OIL LIFE displayed when the engine oil life remaining is 10 percent and again when the engine oil life remaining is between 5% and 1%. When oil life left reaches 0%, the OIL CHANGE message will be displayed. An oil change is required whenever indicated by the display and according to the recommended maintenance schedule. USE ONLY RECOMMENDED ENGINE OILS.

To reset the oil monitoring system to 100% after each oil change [approximately 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or 180 days] perform the following:

Tap on the ODO/TRIP button to toggle the display between the odometer and trip odometer.

Tap on the ODO/TRIP button again to toggle the display between the trip odometer and OIL LIFE XX% display.

Press and hold the ODO/TRIP button for ten seconds or more to display OIL LIFE 100%. Your oil life is now reset.

Tap on the ODO/TRIP button to return the display to odometer.

Look in your owners manual. It will tell you how to reset it.

if there is a key hole near your odometer, use your key and push it in, it should reset your "change oil" light. If there is no key hole, you could try disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds. After reconnecting the battery, it should reset automatically.

You HAVE TO go to the dealer and tell them to reset the code. Most newer cars are like that now, so you go to the dealer for all the maint. instead of doing it yourself and saving a couple bucks

Get them to reset it. If they don't do it, take it to the dealership and have them take care of it.

It is probably just a faulty sensor...It won't do anything to the car mechanically...You won't break down because of it...
