Long layers won't make it appear shorter overall, but of course the shorter layers will be shorter. I think you'd like it, because you still have the length without the "poof" at the bottom.

No, it doesn't have to be, just tell them you want layers in your hair, but you want your hair length to stay the same.

Also if you do care about the length of your layers tell them if you don't want the smallest layer to be snorter than a certain length. Tell them if you only want each layer to get a lot shorter than the other or just a little but shorter each layer.

layers is not for you, if u get layers your hair lengh will stay the same but sections of your hair will get shorter depending on how many layers you want.
Getting layers will give your hair volume making it look thicker, if you dont want your hair as thick as it is ask your hairdresser to thin it out.
this will be used by a special pair of scissors all through your hair taking the thickness away.
i hope this helps

You can definitely keep the length of your hair, and yeah get ur hair layered would help make it look thinner, and make ur face look slimmer too, i'm not sure about the puff too. maybe u can get a straight perm to get rid the puff. i personally love my hair get layered. so enjoy the new style.

It wont make your hair any shorter but it will make your hair a lot thinner! I have relatively thick hair, but when I got my hair layered it got too thin and flat.

no you don't have to lose much length to get layers. (much... maybe a tad just to keep it even and healthy... we like to cut a little for split ends) however, depending on your hair texture, it may actually make your hair puffier. have your stylist advise you on what changes to make... also she/he can help you find products. a simple syrum may give you a more managable texture. good luck with the do!

oh and as far as thinning goes... be careful with that... that can actually give you more body too... which may not be what you want! if you do let her use thinning shears on it... make sure she does not get close to your scalp... that will DEFINATELY increase puff!

Have them thin it with a razor. And tell them to keep the length.

I hate my thick hair too. have them razor underneath the top layer of hair to help get rid of the thickness. Again, with a razor. Just make it clear you don't want to lose your length. that you ant texture and thinning out.

just tell the stylist not to cut the legnth only the top and middle it will be fuller because shorter lengths on longer legths rise and all you hair will look thicker.
