Maybe you are sweating while you sleep without being aware of it.
You'll want to aim to have comfortably cool air circulating your room where you sleep as much as possible throughout the night.
Try keeping a window slightly open, or if you are concerned for theives have a fan in your room. Leaving the bedroom door slightly ajar could help with the air circulation as well.
The next thing is what you cover with at night. A cotton sheet or blanket will also help to keep you cool rather than a thicker wool blanket or duvet. And lastly, wear comfortable jersey, or cotton pyjamas. Materials like silk and satin tend to trap body heat and make you sweat.
All these should help to reduce the sticky, sweaty wake-up.
