Hiccups are not actually from swallowing air. It actually is from a nerve hitting against your diaphragm.
I have two cures:
1. Try swallowing water with a spoon upside down on your tongue. Do it over the sink, because it gets messy!!
2. If the first doesn't work, which it nearly works every time, take a small cup of water and hold it out in front of you. Bend forwards and drink from the opposite end of the cup. It is tricky, but I swear it works too!!

good luck :)

hiccups come from to much air intake when you eat or drink something. So take deep breaths and blow out slowly.
