Gracious, there are all kinds!! What are you interested in? Quick snacks, cold snacks, hot snacks, snacks for one, snacks for a houseful? "Healthy" means different things to different people: to some people, pretzels are a healthy snack because they're not fried like chips are. To me, they're not healthy because they're made from wheat and wheat is hell on my immune system. I know more than a few moms who think "fruit roll-ups" are healthy snacks. I couldn't disagree more: "fruit roll-ups" are chock full of sugar, natural and not-so-natural, never mind the artificial colors and flavors added. Blech! Gimme a bunch of grapes any day! So without knowing your likes, dislikes and definitions of healthy, here are a few of my favorite quick and delicious snacks:
Air-popped popcorn is a great healthy snack.
Peanuts, mixed nuts or mixed seeds (sunflower, pumpkin) are really good - crunchy, salty, flavorful, yum! You can toss them in Worcestershire or soy sauce with a little butter and heat them in the oven at 350' for 10 minutes and create your own "cocktail party" mix.
Baby sweet peppers - plain or with a dressing to dip in
Apple slices and natural peanut butter - gooey, salty & sweet
Halved Roma tomatoes broiled with mozzerella cheese or try a caprese salad, layering slices of ripe tomato with slices of mozzerella and fresh basil. Drizzle a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar and you've got a great snack or light lunch!
A little cold sliced chicken wrapped in lettuce leaves dipped in soy sauce - quick, easy, low fat, high protein AND you get lettuce!
I usually keep a mixture of seeds and nuts on hand, always have tomatoes, always have a variety of cheeses, always have good deli ham (no sugar), always have greens. Cheese and meat are not bad in and of themselves, but remember that an ounce of cheese is usually worth two ounces of meat in terms of calories and protein content. A single serving of potato chips is supposed to be roughly 150 calories (as if anyone ever eats only 1 serving of chips at a time). You can swap the 1 ounce of chips for 3 ounces of cold cooked chicken breast for the same 150 calories. Get more bang for your calorie buck, be creative and don't rule anything out as a possible snack!
Enjoy, eat well, laugh loud!

You can take a screw nut or an oatcake and put on top of it some Greek feta cheese, some olive oil and some tomato paste. It's gonna be delicious. In Greece we eat it as a snack. It's totally healthy thanks to the nutrition that this snack has. It's rich in starch, calcium, vitamins etc.

baby carrots are always easy and good - just rinse them and off you go!
i actually love doing this one: find some low-sodium tortilla chips and some good, low-preservative salsa. arrance the chips in a single layer on a microwave-safe plate. pour the salsa on top (to taste). sprinkle cheese on top of the salsa and stick it in the microwave. heat it until the cheese is melted. (don't over cook it...if it explodes, it's a mess to clean). what i really like about this is that i can add all the 'extras' i wish such as onions, green peppers, jalapenos, diced tomatoes, etc. if you'd like, you can even top w/ sour cream, guacamole and black olives. it's a great snack between "getting home" time and dinner.
you may also consider hummus and whole wheat pita bread. no cooking required! (of course you can dip all kinds of veggies in the hummus too like cucumbers, carrots, red or green peppers, celery, etc.).

My favourite snacks are: Cubed cheese ( not too much, so best if a good strong tasting cheese like mature cheddar, pecorino, blue cheese) with sliced apples and pears. Houmous and/or tsatsiki with carrot and red pepper sticks. Ryvita, oatcakes or crumpets with peanut butter or low fat garlic cream cheese. Home-made popcorn sprinkled with a little salt and spices like paprika or garam masala . 85% plus dark chocolate- a square or two, munched alone or melted with fruit as a dip. Sliced fruit with 0% fat yoghurt. Frittata made with veg and chopped smoked bacon- hot or cold cut into squares. Baked pitta breads- split in half, sprinkle with garlic and/or spices, spray with lf cooking spray, and bake in the oven til crisp, use with houmous, tsatsiki, low fat cream cheese. Oven chips- cut potatoes into wedges or chips, boil then toss around in the draining colander until rough around the edges, spray with lf cooking spray and bake until crisp. Toss with a little salt and spices and serve with dips as before plus ketchup or lf mayo.

buy one of those "personal size" watermelons, put in the fridge and then chunk up. Really great on hot humid days.
