They have no legitimate argument. They are grasping at anything they can come up with, no matter how stupid it is. When they get backed into a corner, they pull out the race card and hope we will back off.
However, we won't. No matter how many times they say we are racist, they are wrong. Illegal immigration is about our laws. It has nothing to do with race. Besides, "Mexican" is not a race - most illegals are from Mexico so I am not picking on just the Mexicans.
They can't call this "civil rights" since the illegals don't have rights here. They aren't citizens!
They also compare this to slavery. This is really stupid! Slaves were property (not even considered a person), forced to come here, couldn't leave and received no pay.
Illegal aliens are are not property, they came here freely, can leave or move any time they want and they are paid.

The guy in you class is stupid and doesn't know much about being Latino. I am Latino, and I never compare our struggle to the African-American struggle. It is different, and was not as publisized as the Black struggle. BUT I do have to say that most people don't know that both blacks and Latinos (Mexican people in theis case) have had their land taken away from them: Blacks were enslaved and sold to the Americas while the entire western part of the USA (which was then all of Mexico) was signed off the the white man. They kicked us out of our own land, and did lynch our people in the southwest aswell as Native americans. Of course, African-American Civil Rights Movement had loose ties with the Chicano walkouts, but each has its own history in this country. Both Blacks and Latinos have deep roots in the United States, but comparing the two is wrong because they are not the same. While blacks have had people calling them inhuman, Latinos had people calling them the exact same thing. Signs like NO DOGS OR MEXICANS where posted all the way up until the 1960's. You even said that you don't much about you Latino side, well maybe you should look it up. It isn't fair to say Blacks had it the worst because how do you know other racial groups struggle in America? Asian Americans, Blacks, and Latinos should be friends, because all have gone through struggles in their history in America. Though comparing the hardships isn't right and no one can take your history away from you.

The big problem they have using the race card is an illegal alien is NOT a race.
Illegal aliens are not citizens...this is another big problem comparing it to the civil rights movement. They have no rights in this country, and they know it.
As was said, it's an act of desperation, because they have no logical argument.
Moody...haven't been to a library lately have you?? Free computer use and free internet access. If illegal aliens can get fake or stolen IDs to work, getting a library card is definitely no problem.
Geno-Notice Moody tried to bring you into this...he's starved for attention...he's generally always ignored...then he gets mad like a kid...keeps getting accounts cancelled. LOL. I know you were talking to me...I would recommend don't give him the satisfaction of replying to him...

As a person of color myself, it does bother me to see them playing games with something they did not march for. Someone should show them over two decades of films then ask "where are you in this struggle?"
If I go to Germany illegally, I have zero rights to start sceaming about my civil rights or any other rights. The only rights that are important is Germany's right to throw my butt out of their country. I cannot wait until we do the same!!

they play the same card that black people asian people and native americans play today that is u are white u think u are superior u oppressed my great great grandparents and now u are trying to do some thing now. i have news for u bud we dont oppress people nowadays even though i would not be against suppressing islamic extremists that is besides the point how often when u are walking down the street are u called a N+++++ i bet u cant use all your fingers and toes to count the times. the same goes for them. everyone is trying to take advantage of the government being politically correct.it is comparable to the civil rights movement because they are trying to live the unalienable rights that we are gaurenteed by the constitution and the government is saying u need to do this and that and we will THINK about letting u have your rights. we are all equal white black brown yellow and red face it and the world would be better off.

Because they are in denial about the harm they are causing American citizens by stealing our jobs and livelihood. What they are doing is unethical - whether they are from Mexico or England or ___________. It is wrong to move to this country illegally and undercut the wages of American citizens. I have many friends who cannot get construction jobs that pay over 7$ an hour. This is WRONG, and you can't just blame the employers either. It is unethical to move to a foreign country and put their citizens out of work. If they can't play by our rules, they don't deserve to be here. PERIOD.

i havent read that anywheres but if the illegal is trying to pull race as a issue,,,,screw that! isnt it about time that mexican americans take a stand! say to their cousins across the border that why are they trying to ruin it for them, the mexican american is a fine citizen hard working and have given many of their sons and daughters educations and a great chance to live a sweet life. also they have been here helping our causes in many wars.
