According to western media, the Pak army's rank and file solders symphathis with the Taliban. Only the elite who come from an upper class (IN theory there is no class in Islam) want to put on a show to fight the taliban . The elite are stuck. They can only have the loyalty of the rank and file if they pour hate and venom down their throats and at the same time fight the please US to keep the flow of $s and arms. If the rank file who form the majority refuse to fight (they do not seem to have the guts anyway) surly the only alternative is theocrasy.

A Theocracy on the Iranian or Taliban model seems unlikely, simply because such could not be tollerated as a nuclear power. Musharaf or some other dictator will have to be propped up, no matter how terrible the cost, just as the dictator in Iraq had to be toppled no matter how terrible the cost.

Ain't international politics wonderful?

No. Pakistan will never become a theocracy and here's why. The Pakistani government is a non-partisan democratic government. It has too many good relations with the modern world powers, such as the U.S. Even though the military is extreme, the government is not aligned with its own military. Without the support of the government, the military can't implement a theocracy.

Their knowledge is limited and they are aided financially
