The word “Armageddon” only occurs in Revelation 16:16, “Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.” This speaks of the kings who are loyal to the antichrist gathering together for a final assault on Israel. In the Book of Revelation, at Armageddon "the cup of the wine of the fierceness of God’s wrath" (Revelation 16:19) will be delivered, and the antichrist and his followers will be overthrown and defeated. The word “Armageddon” has become a general term that refers to the end of the world, not exclusively the battle that takes place in the valley of Armageddon.

If there is Armageddon it will either be man made or natural disaster. If it is an ELE then anyone that does survive won't for long.
I know it is a hard concept to get your head around but we are just super tiny little mamals clinging to a wet rock that is hurtling through space at 250,000 mile per hour in a section of space that resembles a galactic pinball machine.

(Har–Ma·ged′on) [from Heb., meaning “Mountain of Megiddo”].
This name is directly associated with “the war of the great day of God the Almighty.” The term applies specifically to the condition, or situation, to which “the kings of the entire inhabited earth” are gathered in opposition to Jehovah and his Kingdom by Jesus Christ. In a number of versions it is rendered “Armageddon.”
Dan. 2:44: “The God of heaven will set up a kingdom . . . It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite.”
The gathering of the kings to Har–Magedon is described as being a result of the pouring out of the sixth of the seven bowls containing the “last” plagues that will bring to a finish the anger of God. (Re 15:1; 16:1, 12)
1 John 2:16, 17: “Everything in the world—the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one’s means of life—does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world. Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever.”
So the Bible shows that there will be those that remain forever after Armageddon. And the wicked ones will be done away with forever.

I understand the Revelation to be about the fall of the Roman Empire because of the persecution of the first century church as prophesied to the seven churches of Asia. This means that Armageddon would have already happened when Rome fell in the fifth or sixth century (I'd have to look that up.) Anyway, Rome was destroyed and the line of Emperors (that demanded people worship them) with it.

Those that don't live by Jehovah God's Ways.
Satan won't be destroyed then but abyssed for 1,000 years. Then let out after that time for a short time to see who he can get to sin. Then Jesus will battle one last time with Satan and Satan and those that side with him will be destroyed forever.

The bible gives us examples of the types of people that have been destroyed in the past, Sodom and Gomorrah, and everyone else but immediate family in Noah's day. Also, anyone or thing that interfered with the accomplishment of God's will or prophesies (usually they were pagan bad guys). Since Noah was counted as being righteous, and he was only told to take the necessities to restart existence, I would think the same would apply.

A big comet. Well, actually, it is not so much destroyed as split in two after oil riggers drill an 800-foot hole and drop a nuclear weapon down the hole.
