people of the Jewish religion putting up Christmas trees and lights and giving gifts or celebrating Easter with egg hunts and baskets because it's fun. I think it's disgusting. Does anyone agree with me?

It is just as disgusting as Christians doing these things.

All the activities you describe pre-date Christianity and come from pagan mid-winter and spring ceremonies.

Don't take my word for it - go research it yourself.

Most people do not view Christmas as a religious holiday anymore. The only thing a lot of even Christians celebrate on Christmas is the gift giving. Some may go to an hour long mass but seeing as that might be the only time they go throughout the year other than Easter how important can the spiritual side really be. It's funny in the Catholic churches they can be half empty every Sunday but on Christmas and Easter it is standing room only.

I think it depends on that persons back ground. I am pagan, my husband was raised catholic....but he is more now someone who believes in a higher being and doesn't define it with a religion. We celebrate all holidays to show our daughter to accept all religions. we talk to her about Jewish holidays and other cultures holidays. we set up a tree for Christmas and explain why it is important to some people, we celebrate it because on both sides of our family people celebrate it. but we don't go crazy on presents.

History lesson: Pagans we here before the Christians, we celebrate the cycles of life and the changing of the seasons, Christians took our traditions and turned them into their own, but then later changed the dates and basically said theirs are the correct ones. If you look back you can see that our traditions such as decorating the yule tree and decorating the Christmas tree are so similar. So why does it really matter. Not only that but society has changed these scared days into commercialism.

Remember, whether you are Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Pagan or anything else it all comes down to you believe in something higher, and if you look closely you will see that all of the religions are based on the same main principal. So does it really matter if you celebrate and accept everything?

Well, neither a Christmas tree, nor an Easter egg really relate to the Christian faith, they are sort of acquired customs and traditions originally observed in certain areas that then became widespread.. In some places Christians will decorate a boat instead of a tree, and it does not make them more or less Christians.

Since the early catholic church moved dates around to coincide with Pagan celebrations (In order to get the people to accept their teachings,) it doesn't bother me when people of another religion put up trees or give out eggs.
It only bothers me when people overcommercialize certain holy days. My pet peeve is when they take Christmas and use it to sell toys, even though at the same time, they are trying to take the word Christ out of Christmas. For instance, Winter Break instead of Christmas break. There is no federal holiday for winter break, it's called the Christmas break. The same goes for Easter.

That's all, nothing more. :)

Well there isnt much reason to be outraged. Those are simply cultural expressions and traditions of those holidays. As long as people arent sacrificing the true meaning of it. For instance, if Suzy has to decide between going to Christmas Eve service at church and instead she chooses to go to a Christmas party with friends.

Never heard of the Jewish people celebrating these pagan festivals. I wouldn't judge them even if they did. I will leave all the judging up to God.

Why aren't you disgusted by Christians doing that too since both celebrations are Pagan in origin?

I don't. Christmas started out as a pagan festival, without Christian religious implications; it is still fun as a non-religious festival.
