Interesting that you should choose that particular scripture. It clearly illustrates that those who wrote the Bible were not only Solipsists, but that they had no real idea how objective reality actually operates. We moderns know vision is not caused by a "beam" which projects (or "casts out") from the eye. Neither does the presence of one pair of eyes aid the visual acuity of another pair by enabling a "mote" to form. That is, however, exactly what the ancients believed. Remember a Solipsist believes his own internal subjective experience is real. The ancients all imagined that beams projected from their eyes which could alter the physical realm, which was universially believed to be an illusion (created by the "eye beams"). Motes were used to explain why two independant minds always experienced the same "reality" -- because motes were believed to communicate and mutually create a similar illusionary physical realm. Basically the scripture means, "First look carefully, so that your brother can see clearly too." The poetic wisdom you think you understand is an artifact created by using your modern philosophical viewpoint to interpret text which was written by and for solipsists. The original (pre-translation) author never intended the meaning you have discovered.

Having said that, I have noticed the Christians are particularly vicious with each other today. I wonder why.

LOL, I have only ONE eye. Been blind in the other one for more than 7 years now. I think some one crashed into the blind one with a beam, mote, broom or some such hunk of wood. I don't let anythng NEAR my good eye. (TRUE Story) (Well, except for that hunk of wood part) LOL.

My optician told me to use teletext to check my eyes every day. I said "Do I own a television then?" . That's why I watch TV on my laptop! lol I fancy eating chips in bed . . . I would settle for a drink but I'll miss whatever I'm watching on ITV3....
You would like this! lol

The only thing in my eyes are my contact lenses. No beams or motes. Probably need some eyedrops, though.

Been aware of my mote for many years, and try to work
around it -- if perhaps I could use your beam I'd have
better luck at finding and removing it.

Had laser surgery a few months ago after wearing glasses my entire life. So:
" I can see clearly now the frames have gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way..."

Are you being passive-aggressive again Pangelly? Shame on you girly!
Don't tell me your going to hurt us all with hugs again. ;)

My eyes are fine...I never wear my glasses though and it 2 week I have to go back to the ophthalmologist and he is gonna say "How are the new glasses working" At that point I will probably lie like a dog to avoid a really long lecture.
