I have an AKC black lab, she was the runt of the litter, and she weighs about 45-50 lbs. She is small for her size, but she is beautiful, sleek and muscular, loves to fetch.

I also have a 2 year old lab/chow mix. He's about the same size too. As far and I know, it's perfectly normal.

I knew a lab at one time who was larger but it was a male. The female of that breed I believe are smaller but as long as it is in good health , the size is okay. Some of the best pets Ive known have been mixed breeds

if you got her at a shelter and they said lab-chow mix, i wouldn't trust them, they're just guessing and the only lab-chow mix i know is about 26 inches tall at his shoulder... i really can't see the dog that you're describing being one of those so i would say go to akc.org and look through some of those breeds and maybe you'll find a better match. -mal

p.s. i can't get the website you're describing, sorry

Female labs tend 2 be a LOT smaller than males. Also, if she is bred with a chow, its ok!

i'm no longer a retriever fan by skill of any skill yet I had a black lab as a new child and she or he replace into large. goodies are very noticeably however, yet I would desire to admit I do exactly no longer purely like the colour of a yellow.

Pretty sure that's not the correct website ;)

But that does sound quite small for a lab, although she is a mix

first get her spayed, the world doesn't need more mutt puppies , you never can be too sure of what the breeds really are because most people who own a pure bred dog would not bring a litter into the world that wasn't pure

that is strange because even a lab chow mix is taller than that but my friend has a goldenretriever and its pure and smaller than all her others
