Emil Matasareanu(one of the bank robbers)seriously wounded (shot 20 times in legs) and dropped his weapon. Why did the police not give him medical help that may have saved his life, why did they tell the ambulance to leave, only to CALL THE ambulance BACK when it was already to late. New policy for police to leave a HAND-CUFFED, wounded suspect on the road to bleed to death for 45 minutes. They should have been able to search him for a bomb (as they stated they did not know if he had one) in 5 minutes and still got him the help he needed. According to Officer Vojtecky, one of the officers at the scene. said "Don't let this man move. He's trying to bleed out on us. He's trying to kill himself." Well, if his goal was to "prevent" the guy from bleeding to death, why would he just not get him help, or provide him some aid, since police are also trained in first aid. Could have found something, used it as a tourniquet on his legs.Especially like to hear from officers who were there that day

becuase there were reports of a third gunman. the premiter was not secure and the firemen or the EMTs will not enter an area where there may be another gunman. i bet you didnt notice that the EMTs did not go out and attempt to save the police officers or the civilians hit either. the police used a armor plated car to evac them. but i dont see you complaing about the EMTs not going to get them.
why in gods name are you defending two men who went into a bank, locked the people in a safe, came out, shot innocent civilians and police officers? they ruined a young officers career in the process, and thank god, no one but them died.

i hope you know you are really a peice of work. lemmie tell you.

Why should my tax dollars be spent to save him. Personally I am glad he died that day.
Now to answer your question. SOP dictates that no ambulance can enter an area till the police deem it is safe. Swat teams and other officers were busy that day searching for a third suspect. That alone says why they had to turn an ambulance around. Also keep in mind how much confusion there was after this gunfight. Finally he wounded a bunch of people, he deserved to be the last person to recieve medical help.

The officers on scene did not know if the two downed suspects were the only suspects involved, and there was still an active perimeter. I wasn't there personally, but I've spoken to several officers who were. Paramedics and firefighters WILL NOT enter an area where there are active shooters.

While it must be nice to play monday morning quarterback, you weren't there either. They could have done this, or that, yes. Put yourself in their shoes, you're still scanning for an active threat, another suspect who's been shooting at police officers all day, are you going to stop covering your fellow officers to attempt first aid on this guy, when his buddy can pop around the corner at any second to throw some more rounds your way?

I don't think I would..

the only help this guy could have possibly deserved was in dying. It's too bad about all the cameras around the world now. He should have been shot in the head as a training exercise on blood splatter.

You ever searched for bombs, sport? You ever been in a police shootout? You don't have any idea what you are talking about.

I handcuffed a suspect that had a self-inflicted knife wound in his stomach after he murdered two people. Knife was still in him when we got to him. He wouldn't pull the knife out and asked us to kill him. Finally he complied but we still had to kick the knife away before we cuffed him. He went to the hospital cuffed. He'll be out in 2045 when he is in his early 80's but I went home that night.

Simply put, they were angry with him. He had shot numerous police officers and a couple civilians I believe. The anger they felt probably prevented them from letting him receive medical attention. Another thing is, considering the magnitude of how well armed they were and how vicious they were there is a good chance they wanted to check him for explosives, etc. etc.

Over all, he wouldn't have survived with 20 shots to the legs either way.

Lots of accusations, no sources or proof. I'm not going to cry over a bank robber that got in to a shoot out with the police and died.

After what he did, who cares if he bled to death??!! They should have finished him off for all the grief he and his accomplice caused. I would have sent the ambulances away and told them to come back in an hour with a body bag.

If it happened in 1977 he would have gotten another bullet in the head while he was "trying to run away".
