I'm Christian and I don't know of anyone who thinks that God is an old guy in the sky.

Why yes, no problem, I believe that there are whole sets of folks that believe that, and even sillier things, like politicians tell the truth, that religious leaders are in religion because the "old guy in the sky" told them to, for the benefit of the rest of us, that military recruiters are interested in helping us get to where we want, and the tooth fairy will bring me quarters.

Unfortunately yes.
People still don't know that earth is a sphere.
And people still don't believe that Earth revolves around Sun... and not the other way as it's mentioned in bible.
And people still believe Universe is only 6000 years old.
