I work in a vet office and in just the past 2 weeks we've had 3 cats brought in that were poisened by Sergents & Hearts fleas drops. They are not good products. Frontline should not give your animal a bad reaction. It is the best flea product on the market. It does not get absorbed into the animal's system... it only covers their body by moving through the oils in their hair. It however does not repel the fleas, it just kills them. So if your animal goes back out where there are fleas he/she can pick them up... but the Frontline will then kill those new fleas. Frontline is also the best one at staying on the animal after they get wet. If you're pet does have a bad reaction from any kind of product you put on them you should take your pet to the vet. Better safe than sorry.

Most flea and tick drops are not poisonous to your pet. Products sold through your vet are put through rigorous testing and don't harm your pet in any way. The chemicals usually act on the nervous system of the parasite, and cannot affect the animal. However, products purchased over the counter are much more likely to cause toxicity reactions. Flea drops sold over the counter for cats are known to cause severe reactions including tremors, seizing and death. Be careful about what you buy. Always go to your vet.

The only ones that are poision to pets are the OTC products..Hartz, Zodiac, Sargents,Biospot etc...these carry too high a pesticide content and contain a very powerful pesticide..They can actually seep into a pets system and cause skin iritation, skin burns, neurological issues, seizures and death.
Products that you get from a vet such as Frontline, Advantage, etc are safe to use on
your pets.

Flea dips are no longer helpful for the scientific care of fleas, and are undesirable on your cat. the suitable thank you to handle fleas is to get Frontline or yet another comparable flea and tick preventor (no longer Hartz style) and word it month-to-month. you will desire to vacuum any carpets many times, and wash all linens that the cat is attainable in touch with. that's artwork to do away with fleas, yet in a month or 2, your cat would desire to be feeling extra desirable.

Products like frontline are designed to be absorbed into through the skin. They contain just the right amount of pesticide to kill off the fleas/tics, without harming your pet.

ok here's the truth, frontline drops are not poisonous, but they can have an allergy effect if the correct dose is not used, so that is why you buy the correct dose for your dogs size and weight.
Dont listen to people who are not in the business of animal care, always contact your vet with these queries.

Well, If they were poisonous then the companies would not be able to sell them. They have different formulated chemicals to suit the needs of your animals weight and size. If you misuse these items, then yes, it can be poisonous to your animals, but if you use them correctly then the animals should be fine.
It's like alcohol, if you drink to much you become drunk, but if you drink it in moderation then you don't. Same concept!

they are poisonous to humans and most puppies under 12 weeks of age. they say if a human touches it to immediately wash your hands or contact poison control. you can use all natural organic methods. there are several kinds, shampoos, sprays, squeeze ons, herbal collars. this site has several. and I'm sure most pet stores carry at least one kind of natural flea defense
