oops I did do the 10...when typing this I was thinking about the number 7 for some reason.

Umm people need to quit assuming that I was teaching her anything I believe in! I was just telling her about it.

That's where the threats of eternal punishment for being skeptical come in.

Britian is experiencing a flood right now I'd call that a plague
I'd call Katrina a Plague
I'd call earthquakes in Japan a plague

why is all these things that are high odd events happening all at once. Global warming is a good scientific excuse. But I call them plagues... they are going to worse.

Your daughter may think its a silly story but the silly story may just end her life

Of course she said it's silly - there were 10 plagues, not 7. Smart girl, your daughter.

I know that the movie, " The Ten Commandments" isn't all that accurate, but I tihnk that it has an impact of young people to actually see a movie with the effects and story together.

The inconsistencies can be ironed out when she asks about them.

Sounds like she hasnt been taught the Scriptures. My daughter is 4 and I read her her kids Bible every night and she thinks things like that are cool.

You have a really intelligent child. That is great. Perhaps when she grows into adult hood she will not let anyone pull the wool over her eyes, With various cult-ish teachings.

Good Luck to you. And to her she seems to have a really good mind.

I wish they could come up with logican explanation when teaching them about the 7 plagues of egypt.
There's always a scientific explanation about it.

What would you think if you were hearing the story for the first time? It is silly, and she nailed it on the head!

Your daughter sounds smarter than most adults. I had the same reaction at her age. She's right - they are silly stories, used to perpetuate a silly belief system that adults should abandon.

Maybe she should be explaining the book to you?

After all, it is a nine year old. I never ran into problems when teaching bible stories to kids. I'm wondering if her response was influenced by anything you have taught her.
