"A woman works from sun to sun, but a man's work is never done"

That's how it goes, right?

At least nobody screamed at me. I was just messing around.

Nope, other way around. A man works from sun to sun (i.e., farmers can only work in the field from sun-up to sun-down because there's no light otherwise...and this was also true for all other professions until recent centuries), but a woman's work is never done (because if the kids need something in the middle of the night, esp. nursing babies, it's the woman's responsibility).

In this day and age, of course, that's a very antiquated saying and it rarely applies.

I don't agree with that. I believe its the other way around. "A man works from sun to sun, but a womans work is never done." Especially if the woman is a mother...

It is backwards dear... lol But the saying is really correct. I am a part time homemaker and I work part time. My day starts at 5:30 a.m. and does not end until 10 p.m. It is even longer if one of the kids are sick, or cannot sleep. My husband works from 8 to 6 every day. At least his hours are scheduled, mine never stop. LOL

My grandmonther has a metal plack that has hung in her kitchen that says: "A man works from sun to sun, but a WOMAN'S work is never done" That is how it saying goes.

You got it backwards. It deals with the fact that men have 9-5 jobs, then relax while housework and parenting responsibilities never end. I never said I agreed, I'm just explaining, so no complaints please.

No - interchange the order in which you have the "woman" and the "man" and there will be your quote.
