My 2 1/2 yr old daughter has it down at home and even will say she has to go when we are out but when she does nothing happens. How can I encourage her to use the potty successfully when we are out? I don't want to not use diapers at all. When we are at home she wears panties. I know it is the diaper that is keeping her from saying she has to go. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Show that you have confidence in her ability to tell you when she has to go to the bathroom, and do NOT put on diapers when you go out. She should wear regular underwear, and take a couple of extra panties along without her knowledge.
Take note of how much she eats, drinks, then take her to the bathroom with the pretext that YOU have to go. More than like;y she will too. The key is no more diapers, you are a big girl, and if you make in your panty you will need to stay that way until we get home.

Put her in panties, and just build extra time in your day to stop everywhere. Each time you go into a store, take her to the potty and have her sit for a few minutes. Eventually, she will get going on it.

One thing that you can try is to plan trips around meal time and monitor how much she drinks and eats. You should be able to tell when she will need to use the potty then once you get to the restroom turn the water on so she hears that it may help her I know it helps my little girl.

use a pull up and take her potty when out when she says she has to go every time. if you can use the private family restroom if there isnt one use the handicapped stall its bigger and have her sit there for several minutes. kids worry about wetting so they ask to go when they dont. my four year old still does this and hes been trained for a year it will come in time and it will help if she sees mommy use the potty and not act grossed out by the public toilet/ i have accidentally taught my son that public toilets are gross by my hate of them try to hide your feelings this includes facial features.
