It's the sign at the front of your line. "All Morons must stop here first".

Something about your name says you don't work at a UK airport. But I'll humor you.

Most likely people will make that joke to break the ice that sits in airports today. When I was travelling between Kansas City and Indianapolis last summer, it was awkward being in front of security. They looked at me with such scrutiney and sterness that I felt like I was doing something wrong/offending someone. And of course putting everything into a tray (taking off my belt, shoes, wristwatch, etc), I felt like I was being mugged.

So when people joke, its probably to lighten the mood. Hell, I nearly freaked out and ran when 5 more security guards showed up at the terminal I was in (they looked like a out-of-uniform SWAT team). There were already 15 at the one terminal alone.

It's a new system at the airports where they try to assign guards to check those passengers with the same IQs (as the guards).

p.s. I didn't really think that "as the guards" was necessary, but then I considered my audience.
