If I claim something about christianity I can get asked by fundementalist christians what biblical authority there is for that statement.
Now if I provide that I am told that I am interpreting the bible wrong.
That could be why there are so many disagreements chruch splits and divisions, there are now 37,000 seperate church groups (you will know them because they are one)
If the bible could be interpreted on its own, or in light of other passages it wouldnt create so many differing chains of thought.
some say the holy spirit does the interpreting but then does that mean that the holy spirit interprets the bible different for everyone, in such a case it can hardly be authoritative bacause its based on individual "feelings"
Should the bible be interpreted in light of the fist century apostles and church leaders initial teaching. Well I think when it is it creates just one church. jesus said it would and it did, it today is called the Catholic Church.

The authority of the Church rests on three pillars:
Scripture- The Bible is the inerrant word of God and is to be read as the earliest Christians read it: in the light of Tradition and under the guidance of those ordained to teach.
Tradition-the teachings which the Church has preserved and passed down from Christ, His Apostles, and the unanimous teachings of the early Church Fathers .
Magisterium - the teaching authority of the Church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The Church has 7 Sacraments -- "outward signs of invisible grace" and media of sanctifying grace. The Sacraments were given to us by Christ so that we may receive His grace and become more like Him. The Seven Sacraments are:
Baptism
Confirmation -Sacrament of the Seal
Eucharist
Penance
Holy Matrimony
Holy Orders
Extreme Unction
The Church teaches by looking not only at Sacred Scripture, but into History and by reading what the earliest Christians have written, what those who've sat on the Chair of Peter have spoken consistently with Scripture and Tradition, and what they've solemnly defined.
To believe that the Bible is our only source of Christian Truth is unbiblical and illogical

The Bible does not interpret itself and all the Bible Alone people interpret the bible through the lenes of whatever Church tradition they come out of or are rebelling against and bt whatever church authority thay appeal to such as Pastor X or someone else.
The is a unity among Bible and Apostolic oral Tradition(and a balancing between) and the authoratitive Church .

The Bible warns us that in the latter days some would forbid people from eating certain foods and would forbid people from getting married.
Does this show us that the Roman Catholic Church is teaching the doctrines of demons?
Are the Popes really Demons?
Read First Timothy chapter one, verses 1 to 4 and decide for yourself.

Nope.
The Roman Catholic church "interprets" the Bible according to the pope.
Show me one place where the Bible talks about purgatory...
Jesus also said he came to bring division -- a conveniently forgotten reference. Apparently it's not a good idea to have everyone on EXACTLY the same page, or blindly following ONE leader. Sounds sort of like the Nazis to me.
Faith comes by hearing, and if there is no discussion, there's no faith.

No... the catholic church went to war and killed many...
Not very peaceful...
also all the apostles had their own church...
Peter and Paul were arguing and Mary had to flee...
