No, I would not object to this, since Thomas Paine was one of the founding fathers, and as he himself said, this is just his opinion. I have read this and find it interesting that he states that he believes in one God, but thinks that churches are devices of slavery.
I hate to shatter some preconceptions, but Christians are every bit as logical as those who profess not to believe. We all have, according to our gifts, the ability to reason.

I never agree with withholding information from anyone.
However, the Bible would be prefect supplemental reading to that book, as it references it so often.
Actually, I think we have a good idea here! Let them read age of reason, and the Bible, and figure it out for themselves! I already know which one my kids would have picked (and did pick), so I'm not worried

No, not at all. I don't think anyone should be sheltered from points of view that may differ from one's own, especially when the come from great thinkers such as Paine.
