PDF files open ok using Netscape. I have Adobe Reader 6.0 installed.

Adobe is up to version 8. Download and try again.

Uninstall the Adobe Reader. Reboot and download a new installation file for Adobe Reader install it and test it out. If all else fails, save the PDF to your hard drive and then load it into Adobe Reader without Internet Explorer being involved.
