I need to change my LAN settings on my router so I can access my network at work without any issues. Its currently set as the default. Any suggestions? I looked all over the internet, but I can't find anything specifically for that router. I have the settings I need to change over to.

Ok, I need to change the LAN ip on my router. I change the ip and subnet mask and when I click on apply settings in the netgear config gui, I get the message saying that I need to run ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew. So after i do ipconfig/release, I try to do ipconfig/renew, but i get the error message "an error occurred while renewing interface local area connection: unable to contact your dhcp server" Any ides?

This does not seem to make sense.

At work I suspect you are set to obtain an IP address automatically and the router at work provides the IP address for you to do your job.

At home, the router should provide LAN ip addresses via DHCP and this should be all you need.

Now if your work location provides you a static IP and you are not allowed to change it, that is a different story. You can set your subnet on your home router to use the same subnet. In this case you change the subnet to be the same as it is at work. I would need to know the ip address, subnet mask, and default gateway of the static IP setting to tell you the exact subnet to use as it may not be a 24 bit subnet.

I think you need to turn DHCP on for the home router and leave the settings as is on your laptop. If you have a static IP at work and programed into your computer. Make the home router LAN address the same as the gateway address at work. Ipconfig will tell you the gateway address if it is static.
