I recently noticed a "buldge" or swelling in the front of my right thigh. There was no pain or discoloration at first, but after 4 days I'm noticing the area is increasing and a pain comes and goes. At times it hurts like I have had a tenus shot. Still no discoloration and it is not tender to the touch. Any ideas what this may be? I have not injured my leg (bumped it or anything) and like I said, not sure if it is swollen or what, but the area is definetly buldging. It goes all the way accross my upper thigh now.

It could be any number of things. An enlarged lymph node or hernia (if in the groin area), to name a few. Worth checking into for sure. Good luck and feel better soon. FYI -- usually in the presence of infection, one would expect to have redness, swelling and a fever.

It could be an infected lymph node, but if it's painful and has gotten larger or more noticeable in the last few days, it's worth seeing a doctor to make sure there's nothing seriously wrong.

Go get it checked ASAP, especially if it's gotten so large. It could be a spider bite and some of those can be very dangerous if left unattended.

Any swelling that is unexplained is worthy of immediate medical attention.

Get it seen.

Especially if it is spreading.

Hope this helps.
