let's say you want to subtract c6 from b6 and put the answer in d6. You have the numbers already in b6 and c6. Go to cell d6 and type in =b6-c6 and hit enter and you are done. You could also type =, move curser to cell b6 and hit enter, type -, move curser to cell c6 and hit enter.
