An alternative...

Run a fused (1 amp, 14 AWG) wire from a fuse in the fuse panel that only has power when the car is on to a switch. Then from the other side of the switch run the same sized wire to the REM (remote) connection on the amp. This allows for full control and you never have to worry about forgetting to turn off the amp. The switch is so you can turn off the amp at will so as not to give grandma a heart attack in the car.

Use a fuse tap that you can get from most any autoparts store.

the blue wire of the head unit (it should have a diagram on the deck to tell u what color is the remote wire usually blue or blue/white )goes all the to the remote input on the amp that is what sends the signal from the deck to the amp telling it to turn on and off.If u cant find the remote wire off the unit then use the red wire but make sure the power on hte amp turns on/off with key on /key off

Remote wire should go to the remote ON from the amp. the remote wire has 12 volts + whenever the radio is on and is used for amps or power antennas

Yes, the remote wire is blue and should be connected to the amp in the remote spot. It turns the amp on and off.

the blue wire is the remote wire which will run directly to the amplifier. this gives the initial power to turn the amp on the the power wire keeps it running.
