Modeling is a beautiful art, yet a very strict art. I have pondered the possibilities of me becoming a model, however how likely is it? I am 5'3", and thirteen years old. I weigh 90 pounds. My body structure is slightly thin. I have hazel eyes (green and brown), and dark brown hair. Is it possible for me to become a model? Also, if any of you have had past experience or know anything about modeling/acting schools, which ones would you recommend?

The last thing the world needs are more models. You're so young. Do something important in your life. Be a doctor or a teacher. Help people.

Runway model - yes
An above poster mentioned 5'6 to be the height requirement for runway, but I believe it's more in the 5'9 range.
Print/editorial model - possibly
Commercial model - no

Don't go to a modelling school to "learn" to model. You need to be comfortable with yourself and with the camera. Just get a friend to take pictures for you so that you can see what works and what doesn't. Look at poses/expressions in magazines for inspiration.
You're a bit young to be looking at the big agencies (not to mention the majority of them are in NY, so if you're not in the area, you would need to move). For now, check out your yellow pages for local agenices (NOT schools!). You may be able to get some editorial work in catalogues or print ad's that are produced locally (such as those in the newspaper) to get some experience and start building a portfolio.
Also, realize there is absolute no way to determine if it's possible for you to become a model just based on your height/weight/hair color. It's a finicky business and you either have "the look" or you don't (for fashion, anyone can do commerical).
Best of luck and remember not to give anyone any money! If you sign with an agency, they will take a percentage of your earnings from bookings, so they get paid when you get paid.

I'm going to try and ignore your first answer. I'm 90 pounds, 5'5 and model for various magazines. I'm 15, so yes, you have a chance. Try looking for Theatrical Schools around you. Join a theater production and take every opportunity.

Also, keep in mind that Twiggy was a famous super-model and was only 5'6 and walking run way. You'll grow.

It depends on your bone structure and what type of modeling you are looking to get into. Attractive celebrities with good bodies usually become spokes models. That being said, most working runway models are over 5'6" and usually closer to 6'

I think that you can still model. Girl, I'm 5'3 and I'm 15 and I've had people telling me that I could model since I was like twelve, but I'm more into acting. Just do what you want to do, and don't let anybody stop you. Especially yourself :)

ok, well yes 5'3 is kind of short to model. But you might make it in commercials and you'll probably grow more. Also the only ones you can trust the most are the agents themselves(Ford, Elite, DNA, IMG, ID, MGMT, etc.) Well hope i helped

It depends. Have you hit your growth spurt yet? If you haven't, you have a ways to go. Also, I'll tell you this: if someone or a school asks you to pay up front, do not do it! That is an automatic scam. Hope that helps!

I am also 13 with hazel eyes, but i'm 5'2". you can be a model because I am. But for runway you must be 5'6". It is likely. But you have to send them pictures of you if you want a chance.

To work Runway you need to be at LEAST 5'9".. but don't despair- you have alot of growing time left, and even if you don't reach that height, there are jobs for the petite models too.
