For example, he lets a woman with 5 kids die in a car accident or through domestic violence. Why? What does he need that woman specifically for in heaven? To help do his laundry and cooking with the thousands of other women up there?

Don't her kids need her more?

I have asked Christians questions similar to yours many times, but they always resort to the “God works in mysterious ways” argument. They say that “God has reasons that we are unable to comprehend.” I think they are full of s—t, but that is probably how most of them will respond to your question.

That's a very good question. Of course, god doesn't NEED her there.

If we look at life as a course of study, with certain tests needed to pass the course, we will see that the bad things that happen to us are really growth experiences for us which help us build our base of knowledge and give us life skills and an appreciation for what we have. Does the person who is handed a fake degree from an online scam school have the same thing as one who studies hard and passes all of his exams? We will never fully appreciate or benefit from an education and all that is to be gained from it by buying fake degrees. Likewise, if we never experience joy as well as sorrow, we will never gain the benefits of those either. While we may not realize it at the time, everything that happens in our lives CAN be for the better ultimately, if we only let it.

I mean spiritually anything traumatic can lead to enormous growth. Why do you think most people don't start questioning and exploring issues of faith until something bad happens in their lives? It is an opening to a new realization, if we are willing to go inside.

Those children who grow up without their mother will certainly suffer along the way, but in the end the have an opportunity for spiritual growth, which is really the whole point of life, as well.

The best explanation of this I've read is in the Bhagavad Gita. In this Hindu scripture, Arjuna, a warrier is faced with the prospect of having to go to battle against members of his own family. He agonizes over it and considers abandoning the battle, until the Lord Krishna, explains the nature of things to him.

Krishna explains to Arjuna that he does not have the power to "kill" anyone. Our human bodies are merely a transitional state and that when a human dies it merely represents the spirit transitioning to a different form - no "death" has really occurred.

And so, Krishna tells Arjuna that he must play his part in the scheme of things, and that as a warrier it is his part to take place in these battles. However, he also explains to Arjuna the various "yogas" or paths to God. One lesson here, he explains is that the devout man will not take pleasure in killing people, but rather he will perform his actions in the spirit of "service to God". He will seek to understand his role and fulfill it as a service to God, with satisfaction taken in performing our actions in the right spirit, unconcerned with the result or outcome.

And thus, seen in this light, I would suggest that the physical world is a great, spiritual crucible per se. A place where our spirits can learn lessons. But alas, when we take on this physical form we seem to forget all else and our physical lives here become the be all and end all and we essentially lose our spiritual perspective. I'm guessing that's part of the learning process too - learning to see through the temporal and illusary nature of physical existence here. Hard to do.

Everything that anyone gets or that happens to them is earned by their own personal karma, by their store of merit or guilt. If someone dies with all their kids in a wreck then there is certainly a bigger picture involved that is very hard for the living to see.
My older sister died in a car rollover accident in Wyoming many years ago. All 4 of her kids were with her. She died instantly but none of the kids got a scratch. Now they have all grown up and have kids of their own.
My sister was very unhappy and going through a painful divorce at the time of her death. I always like to think that God did not want her to suffer anymore, and since she was always helping others and did so much for others she had really good karma, and so in this case, her death was a blessing. But you could never convince my mom of this, and I didn't even try.

This will make you think for a while.
At a certain college there was a professor with a reputation for being tough on Christians. At the first class, every semester, he asked if anyone was a Christian and proceeded to degrade them and to mock their statement of faith. One semester, he asked the question and a young man raised his hand.

The professor asked, "Did God make everything young man?" He replied "Yes sir he did!"
The professor responded,! "IF God made everything, then he made evil" The student didn't have a response and the professor was happy to once again prove the Christian faith to be a myth.

Then another man raised his hand and asked, "May I ask you something, sir?" "Yes, you may," responded the professor.

The young man stood up and said, "Sir, is there such a thing as cold?" Of course there is, what kind of a question is that? Haven't you ever been cold?"

The young man replied, "Actually, sir, cold doesn't exist. What we consider to be cold, is really an absence of heat. Absolute zero is when there is absolutely no heat, but cold does not really exist. We have only created that term to
describe how we feel when heat is not there."

The young man continued, Sir, is there such a thing as dark?" Once again the professor responded, "Of course there is."And once again, the student replied, "Actually, sir, darkness does not exist. Darkness is really only the
absence of light. Darkness is only a term developed to describe what happens when there is no light present."

Finally, the young man asked, "Sir, is there such a thing as evil?"The professor responded, "Of course, we have rapes, murders and violence everywhere in the world, Those things are evil. " The student replied, "Actually, sir, evil does not exist. Evil is simply the absence of God. Evil is a term developed to describe the absence of God.God did not create evil. It isn't like truth, or love which exist as virtues like heat or light. Evil is simply the state where God is not present, like cold without heat, or darkness withoutlight."

The professor had nothing to say................
Be full of Christ today, there is no room for anything else . .

God does not take a day to day interest in the individual lives of people. God gives us freewill and the ability to live our lives. God does not influence life or death. If that were the case how come God did kill evil people early on throughout history like Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot?

Yes we die in car wrecks and disease and all sorts of catastrophic things happen in this world. A world of free will and sin can not be a perfect world. It is the reason that God came to the world to bring his creation to his righteousness.
The perfect paradise which is to come has no sin and therfore no death.

It is the consequence. Something like that has changed our lives, but more importantly it has changed the life of her children. We can not know how it will manifest itself. They might be a safer driver, or they might start a program for abused women, doing everyone good.

Bad accident, disease, murder, suicide, old age. And those people would die whether god likes it or not.
