Read all the new editions of the original Basic Books of Scientology, in chronological sequence.
Ask your local ScientologyChurch or Mission about the Extension Courses they provide for each of these books.

i'm thinking i should become one too - with all this global warming lark, scientology could be the way save myself.

Yeah, get a grip and realize that the creator
of that so-called "religion" is L. Ron Hubbard who made a bet with a buddy that he could start his own religion/following.
He won the bet, obviously.
It was as he was writing "Dianetics" I believe.
If I were you, it would be a 24-hr. experience.

Research research research. Find out why people have both joined and left the religion.
Personally, i think you could do better, and as a child of the Creator, you diserve better.
Watch out for traps.
And if you have to pay for information, then it is just a racket... Spirituality and fulfillment are actually free.

1 grab your wallet tightly in your hand
2 don't do their primitive lie detector test
3 don't tell them any of your problems they can blackmail you with
4 don't give them the deeds to your house
5 don't believe the so called stars they get to give them a face
6 remember it's all science fiction
7 don't believe they are a church
8 Tell them you are L Ron reincarnate
If they do sucker you start a group law suit to sue Tom Cruize and John Revolting and any other star who supports them for your money back and your mental health
Also if you have a mental problem kill everybody and don't take your medicine as that's OK by them
