Why do most of curvy women are Latin?

I'm not Latin (wish I was...), but others describe my body as J.Lo's (big bottom and slender waist) and think I'm Latina (good for me!). But WHY? Why do women from northern countries are skinnier than those from south? I'm just very curious about it :)

I am Venezuelan. I think Latin women get their curves from AFRICA. Yes, you heard (read) me. In Latin America all the races are mixed. When the white man (Spanish) came down to South America they started mixing with the natives (Indian) and brought along their slaves (Native Islanders, Africans). It all became a big melting pot. Also remember that in our countries race is not as segregated as here in the United States, people marry "outside their race" more often since theres not a "defined" race. No one can say they are "purely" white or black or anything, we are all mixed and that's why the women (and most men) are so beautiful. Example: my mother is the daughter of a white Spanish man (blonde hair, blue eyes) while his wife (my granny) is black as night and her grandmother (my granny's mom) is Indian (red skin, gorgeous straight black hair). As a result my mom is one of the most stunning women I've ever seen. Hazel eyes, fair complexion, curly black hair, really tall, nice waist and bottom. When she married my father things got even more complicated, because he brought so much into the mix. And the tree most people in Latin America looks pretty much like that. I hope that explains it to you better.

What is considered attractive in one place is not necessarily what is considered attractive in others. In places like Italy and Paris, the traditional model figure is what women seek. They work very hard to look that way by modifying diet and doing specific workouts. You have described what is considered by many people to be the Latino preference, and many Latino women try to modify their looks to fit it. They eat differently than more "northern" women. Finally it is genetic. Just like people can have different skin and hair colors regionally, they can have different body shapes. It is perpetuated by sexual selection. Meaning that if most Latino men find women with body types as you have described attractive, they mate more often with them, and you get more children with those attributes. However, if they suddenly started desiring more slender women with straighter bodies, then they would marry and mate with those thin women, and over a long period of time, Latino women would become thinner with smaller bottoms, and they would diet and work toward that goal (if they allowed themselves to be controlled by what they think guys think are sexy -- which is what a LOT of women do -- not necessarily a good thing). Anyway, it's about genetics and environment. I am happy you are confident and happy with the way you look.

That is a very broad generalization.

Different cultures have different body types because they "evolved" in different parts of the world.

There are different climates, and different food grow natively.

Then people tend to marry people of the same race... so those genes are passed down and kept in the race.

More and more of these generalizations are becoming the exception rather than the rule because different races are living in different countries and marrying people from different cultures... and there are more and more imports of food, etc.

Because people from the southern countries are happy and actually EAT! and they eat well. They aren't all hung up on how they look and don't care what others thing and look at how good they look...J.lo, Selma Hiak...we should all be a little more like that and we can enjoy ourselves and life.

if you think that's good wait until you discover black women! lol you really think latin women are curvy huh? don't believe the hype!
