He will be despised and rejected, and lay down his life to make atonement for our sins." Isaiah 52:13-53:12 predicted before Messiah came and the temple was lost leaving mankind with either Jesus atonement or no blood sacrifice for sins as commanded by God to Moses.

Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins

"The life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it upon the altar to make atonement for your souls."

Moses said that in Leviticus 17:11

and to athiests-even if you dont believe there is a God-why would Jewish people that reject Jesus-keep verses in the bible that predict him perfectly? A sure proof from the Hebrew and its translation that the Bible is the Word of God. Jesus says if you try to add or take away from my word, you will have plagues in your life and go to hell tormented forever Matthew 24:51

I am going to say this as clearly as possible. Atheists don't believe in God, the Bible, Jesus Christ, Hell, or any other of the mythological mumbo jumbo you are talking about. Using a book that we believe to be a steaming pile of tripe to convince us of your point really just shows a lack of forethought. We don't believe in the very premise of sin so why would we need an atonement? Please note, we believe there is right and wrong, moral and immoral, we just don't attach a God to those beliefs. When we are good it is for the sake of being good and forwarding the species, not because some mystical sky dude said he would send us to hell.

There is a great and horrifying picture taken early in the Vietnam War of a Buddhist monk who sat down in the middle of a Saigon street , had his fellow monks pour gasoline on him and then he lit a match.
He was protesting the unfair treatment of Buddhists by the US approved Catholic dictator who was running the country;President Diem
I think that monk would more than qualify for the Top Ten List in the Symbolic Blood Sacrifice category; He may even be on top of it .

Labgrrl makes an excellent point. How do you know God requires a pure blood sacrifice? Why is any sacrifice necessary, and if it is, why isn't a tainted sacrifice sufficient? Then, how do you know the sacrifice of Jesus satisfies your criteria? What if your bloodthirsty God requires a unique pure blood sacrifice for each individual? What if She requires one for each individual sin? I think your entire theology is a house of Tarot cards.

How should I know why one wacky religious group would do anything? Could it be that (as I know is true) the Jews don't think your JC is the one they predicted, nor do they agree that he "perfectly fits?" Shouldn't they know better than you?

Reality is, it's all nutjob stuff. There is no god, no sin, no need for blood sacrifice, just circular reasoning from loonies.

Without your made up God and religion, there is no such thing as "sin" per se.

So I guess you have to work within the construct of Christianity to come up with someone to "shed his blood for the forgiveness of sins" (to paraphrase).

That pretty much leaves you with Jesus.

*sigh*. Here we go again.

Your first piece of "evidence" is Isaiah 52:13. What is the first verse of Isaiah 52?
1. Awaken, awaken, put on your strength, O Zion; put on the garments of your beauty, Jerusalem the Holy City, for no longer shall the uncircumcised or the unclean continue to enter you.

Hm. Let's continue on?

2. Shake yourselves from the dust, arise, sit down, O Jerusalem; free yourself of the bands of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
3. For so said the Lord, "You were sold for nought, and you shall not be redeemed for money."
{...}
7. How beautiful are the feet of the herald on the mountains, announcing peace, heralding good tidings, announcing salvation, saying to Zion, "Your God has manifested His kingdom."
8. The voice of your watchmen- they raised a voice, together they shall sing, for eye to eye they shall see when the Lord returns to Zion.
9. Burst out in song, sing together, O ruins of Jerusalem, for the Lord has consoled his people; He has redeemed Jerusalem.
10. The Lord has revealed His holy arm before the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

Here comes the part you quoted out of context, read carefully:

11. Turn away, turn away, get out of there, touch no unclean one; get out of its midst, purify yourselves, you who bear the Lord's vessels.
12. For not with haste shall you go forth and not in a flurry of flight shall you go, for the Lord goes before you, and your rear guard is the God of Israel.
13. Behold My servant shall prosper; he shall be exalted and lifted up, and he shall be very high.

HMMMMM! Now, doesn't that sound like that ONE verse you took out of the WHOLE chapter, when put BACK in context, refers to all of Israel? Weird!

Leviticus 17--
This part of the Tanakh is talking about kashrut laws! The laws of sacrifice are found elsewhere ENTIRELY! Hahahaha.

Secondly, the part that DOES talk about sacrifice laws, talks about how blood sacrifices are nothing without teshuva. (Look it up.)

"even if you dont believe there is a God-why would Jewish people that reject Jesus-keep verses in the bible that predict him perfectly?"

There is no verse anywhere that points to J*sus. The ones that "do" point to anyone human. "He will be born of a young woman, he will be a man, etc, etc."

I won't go into Matthew because I'm Jewish and could care less about the New Testament.

So to answer your question:
I think you will find it interesting to note that the text you so try to manipulate to point to J*sus very clearly says in many places that human sacrifice is abhorred by G-d. Not to mention on a more detailed level--only certain kinds of animals can be sacrificed. There are kosher animals, and there are sacrificial kosher animals (a higher degree of "clean") and humans aren't even the first level of kosher. So....your whole thing is irrelevant.
