I do not have first hand experience with Fibromyalgia, but I do have a little knowledge regarding the illness and symptoms.
Fibromyalgia is an arthritis related condition or syndrome, which has symptoms of muscular pain and fatigue. Although it is a painful condition it can be hard to diagnose as the symptoms are quite common and test usually come back normal.
Although they are not sure what causes Fibromyalgia they have linked it to these possibilities "Stress, Disordered sleep patterns, which can lead to fatigue and a lower pain tolerance.
Abnormal production of pain-related chemicals in the nervous system.
Low levels of growth hormone in the body. "
Doctors generally look for this signs to diagnose as Fibromyalgia, such as history of pain above and below the waist on both sides of the body for more than 3 months. As well as fatigue in multiple tender points.

Although the pain that is felt with Fibromyalgia may never go away completely there are pain management and self care that can decrease the pain.

For further information I have included the below links from webmd....

Well now, Fibromyalgia and "IBS" that's a new one on me. You never know but, Fibromyalgia is a type of rheumatism and/or arthritis of the tissues of the skin.
One daughter is being treated and, well treated to say the least with "Prozac" a very mild dose of a nerve medication while a friend is in pain and, treated with a shot every morning and in pain all the time.
In fact the friend went to the Mayo Clinic, the very place I was going for my internship way back when.
The Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, Minnesota (Southern) is the third largest teaching hospital are in the U.S. with So.Cal being the first and Saginaw, Mi. by me the second. They're all good.
The Mayo Clinic will treat anyone but, you have to guarantee three days and let any and all doctors there that want, examine you. They found out what was wrong with my friend in one day.
Fibtomyalgia is really quite common and treatable with a variety of drugs.
Go to www.webmd.com they'll give you all the answers.

It has been linked to IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), which runs in families...

try http://www.rarediseases.org/search/rdbdetail_abstract.html?disname=Fibromyalgia and scroll down for support organizations..

also try http://www.clinicaltrials.gov and put in fibromyalgia in the search and hit the map button for local trials and don't forget to turn the pages..
