The Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth and bring us to understanding. We are to ask for Him to do this.

I'm not sure what you mean in the latter part "if you love the book will you love the county" meaning USA, Jerusalem, country music???

but that aside, the struggle on how best to understand a book that claims so much authority, and so many have claimed is the catalyst for so much life change. if your having difficulty, don't worry, your in a pretty good group. and don't forget the old saying "confusion is simply the sign of a wise person trying to understand"

a method that I've used be fore is inductive study, this is a mixture of conceptual study, and reading a book though, where you track the topics of each book, make notes, and compare, this way you get a "whole bible" idea, instead of a fractured view point, now i don't agree w/ everything she says, but i agree with her process

simply further evidence that God has different things planned for different people.

and don't forget the life application side of things, little good is done by educating yourself past the point of willingness to implement what you've learned

The Holy Spirit teaches. I love God's chosen Israel. The Bible is full of historical events.

Genesis- The creation of the world, sin, flood and birth of Israel
Exodus to Esther- History of the nation of Israel
Job to Proverbs- the books of poetry and wisdom
Isaiah to Malachi- Prophecy or foretelling of the future events to come.

27 New Testament
Matthew to John - Four Gospels representing the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ now with all authority in Heaven and earth.
Acts- Birth of the Church (The Bride of Christ)
Romans to Jude - Letters to the Churches
Revelations - The ultimate future plans for: The Church, Heaven, Hell, a New Heaven and a New Earth.

Look in 1st Corinthians Chapter 2 verses 6 thru 16.

This is the the foremost passage on understanding Scripture, and establishes that The Holy Spirit of God is the giver of understanding of Gods Word.

God isn't saying anything in the bible because god doesn't exist. The bible was written by men. Men are saying things to us in the bible. The key to understanding what they are saying is in understanding written languages - several of which comprise the biblical accounts. Study written language and the languages the bible was written in, then study the texts and eventually you will come to some degree of understanding of what the writers were saying. Keep in mind that some definitions have been lost thru time and there may well be somethings written there that we will never understand.

Read it straight through. The bible wasn't originally separated in Chapter/Verse. Sometimes, the breaks aren't where they are supposed to be.

Pray - alot. If you spend time communing with the Holy Spirit, He will show you things in the Bible that you never saw.

Go to a church where the pastor is an annointed teacher. Not all are meant to teach, so if you want to learn more, find a teacher (as opposed to an evangelist, ....)

Don't read it? Since there is no god, there or anywhere else.

What country? Israel? The book surely has nothing to do with the USA, which was founded primarily by believers trying to get away from other believers so they could persecute people using their own standards (See Thomas Jefferson's Notes on the State of Virginia).

Proverbs 9:9-11 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

9Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

11For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
