Ever night for literally years (around 5 to be more exact) I suffer from nightmares... I don't die in any of them, and I can control them to the point where people will come back to life if they do die, but the fact is, they all make me feel horrible when I finally wake, like i haven't gotten any sleep at all. I also suffer from sleep paralysis. That is when your concious and still dreaming at the same time and can't move your body. I don't take any drugs, and I only drink every so often. I'm not stressed, i always read right before bed... nothing that is dramatic... and I have many stress relieving habits... like working out, eating healthy, doing puzzles.... So i don't understand it. My love life is fine, no one around me is terribly ill.... I just can't figure out why I keep having nightmares and I'm to the point that i'm just so exhausted from them now. Is there anything that i'm not already doing that can help me?

Its your subconscious; you are not dealing with something. Perhaps start keeping a dream journal to give you some insight. Sorry, I have suffered as well.

What I would do is pray before going to bed? If you don't have a prayer life I would suggest that you develop one. If you don't know what to pray for I would suggest that you I should pray for the Lord's peace to surround and abide in your home before you go to bed. Ask the Lord to put his Angels of protection around you, so that you can sleep soundly. Maybe, also start going to church more, you might be lacking in your spiritual walk with God. Sounds to me that you are in excellent health, which naturally you strengthen your outer self, but you need to tap into your inner man (which is your soul) and start connecting spiritually with the Lord. Only when you nourish your inner spirit, and start reading the Bible more, and through prayer your nightmares will start to lessen.

There are ways to stop dreaming entirely. Talk to your dr.

You didn't mention your spirituality. I think that's what's missing. Are you saved & baptized? Do you pray and read the Bible? If you need help with this, e-mail and I'll get you in touch with someone who can help you.

Do you spend time on video games, watch violent movies...

I hope your sleep gets better.

Have you ever thought of joining a volunteer Fire dept, possibly as a paramedic? If your all ready in the medical field you should look to advance your skills. You are in a struggle with and not listening to your soul. This may be something you should give alot of thought to. Action needs to be taken in your waking life and your struggle will end and you will sleep in peace.

maybe your dream is trying to tell you somthing. maybe you are secretly afraid of somthing? maybe you dont like being controlled in your life by something or someone, bc in your dream you CAN control things.

it keeps reaccuring maybe because you arent dealing with that problem in real life.
