Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the bible is the only infallible inspired means of knowing God's will and purposes. Witnesses do not believe that one particular translation is inspired in way that others are not, and do not believe that post-biblical writings are inspired by God.
Incidentally, Mormons themselves claim to be nontrinitarian Christians; that is, they believe that Jesus the Son is a distinct person from God the Father. However, Mormons do not believe that the "God" of the so-called "New Testament" is the same "God" of the so-called "Old Testament"; Mormonism teaches that the pre-human Jesus is the "God" or "Jehovah" of the so-called "Old Testament".
This is obviously a fundamentally different theology than the other great nontrinitarian Christian religion, Jehovah's Witnesses. Jehovah's Witnesses believe the bible to teach that there are several references to Jesus in the so-called "Old Testament" which indicate that he is distinct from the "God" or "Jehovah" of the so-called "Old Testament". It is not enough to simply assert that a doctrine is true, and so Jehovah's Witnesses reason from the Scriptures on the matter...
It seems rather obvious that the apostle Luke at Acts 4:25-27 quotes from Psalms 2:1,2. Although these passages are part of the Christian and Hebrew Scriptures respectively, BOTH passages make it plain that there is an "anointed one" who is distinct from God. The Psalm plains calls that God by the name "Jehovah" (explicitly using the Tetragrammaton) and Acts plainly calls the anointed one by the name "Jesus".
(Psalm 2:1,2) [David wrote] Why have the nations been in tumult and the national groups themselves kept muttering an empty thing? 2 The kings of earth take their stand And high officials themselves have massed together as one against Jehovah and against his anointed one
(Acts 4:24-27) [Peter, John, and fellow Christians] with one accord raised their voices to God and said: “Sovereign Lord, you are the One who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all the things in them, 25 and who through holy spirit said by the mouth of our forefather David, your servant, ‘Why did nations become tumultuous and peoples meditate upon empty things? 26 The kings of the earth took their stand and the rulers massed together as one against Jehovah and against his anointed one.’ 27 Even so, both Herod and Pontius Pilate with men of nations and with peoples of Israel were in actuality gathered together in this city against your holy servant Jesus
Similarly, the apostle Paul at 1 Cor 2:16 and Rom 11:33,34 paraphrases Isaiah 40:13. Note that Isaiah explicitly uses the name "Jehovah" (the Hebrew Tetragrammaton), and 1 Corinthians plainly CONTRASTS the mind of Jehovah with the mind of Christ Jesus.
(1 Corinthians 2:16) For “who has come to know the mind of Jehovah, that he may instruct him?” But we do have the mind of Christ.
(Romans 11:33-34) O the depth of God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How unsearchable his judgments are and past tracing out his ways are! 34 For “who has come to know Jehovah’s mind, or who has become his counselor?”
(Isaiah 40:13) Who has taken the proportions of the spirit of Jehovah, and who as his man of counsel can make him know anything?

Sweetgirl12...I don't agree with Mormons nor Jehovah's Witnesses..I think they are both a false religion.
But, Mormons are good decent people...as are Jehovah's Witnesses..The difference between the two is just what you stated..Mormons don't go around judging others.
If the Jehovah's Witnesses want to point out fruitage of the Spirit then the can look to the Mormons as a fine example..as they can look at all true Christians as a fine example..They are not the only "good" people on this earth..as they so think they are..according to all of the answers that I have read of theirs..
I am not very familiar with the Mormons beliefs..I do know that they have a prophet that they go by if I am not mistaken...so as do the JW's..They deny this now..but it is documented well in their WT magazines...Sometimes they are God's mouth piece..and sometimes they are not..they can't decide if they are or not.

Very simple first they use the bible and only the bible and second ask to both of them When Jesus died, what date, the one that can answer that is more accurate in the knowledge of the bible, do the same with others and you will be amaze cause the only one that know that date are Jehovah witnesses, now ask you why if everybody has a bible.

Dear Lulu, you are insulting and what you just said is very NOT God approval! You judge another person to be adulteress because of their religion? You better go back and read your Bible about what Jesus says about "judging others" especially if you got no proof what they do in their personal life! In Hawaii I have Mormon friends and none of them got more than one wife!!! You keep on judging falsely like that you better watch out on what tomorrow will bring! Stop spreading lies! As you can see I am angry because my Mormon friends are NOT LIKE THAT! How dare you!!!
Please JW'S forgive me for my burst of anger but I do feel hurt by Lulu's comment. I do have respect for my Mormon friends even if I am not one of their member. The same as I respect the JW's for their uprightness. I will leave this place now and pray to God that He can calm my heart. I am sorry again all.

The Bible is the only completely reliable source of truth. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that “all Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial.” (2Â Timothy 3:16)
Jehovah's Witnesses believe with all their hearts the apostle Peter’s testimony regarding Jesus Christ: “There is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved.”—Acts 4:12.
Jesus prayed "I have made your name manifest to the men you gave me.”—John 17:6 Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that they should be like Jesus in making God’s name and purposes manifest to others.
Appropriately, Isaiah 43:10 says to God’s representative people: “‘You are my witnesses,’ is the utterance of Jehovah, ‘even my servant whom I have chosen.”

They aren't more accurate then Mormons. Mormons have respect for everyone and they don't judge other religions. Mormons should be respected for all the things they do. When hurricanes mess up a town, they are ALWAYS there to help. And Mormons don't have paid ministry and they actually keep the sabath day holy and listen to the ten commanments. I don't understand why people are alwasy judging Mormons. My best friend is a Mormon and I think that her and her family are wonderful people. I even went to church with her a few times. They think about EVERYONE and you don't sit around a listen to a preacher lecture you about stupid stuff. I might even convert to a Mormon.

the Jehovah's Witnesses base their teachings on the bible.
they are not swayed by traditions, false doctrines, or misguided leaders.
the literature we leave with people , if utilized, is also aimed at directing people to Jehovah God's inspired word - THE HOLY SCRIPTURES
it is from these writings that we gain the information on how to worship the One True God

They are not, no one can accurately claim that they are the ONLY absolute 100% true religion (denomination). Although, most all of them do; JW's and Mormons claim it the loudest and most frequently.

JW's can account for their own accuracy.
Accurate to what -- can they shoot guns straighter than Mormons?
However, Mormon doctrine is the most logical and accurate to God's fairness and justice and mercy, as well as many more factors.
That is not the only reason I remain a Mormon but it certainly makes it easy.
