According to the 2006 Census, out of about 20 million Australians, more than 12 and a half million claim to be Christians of some sort. I certainly wouldn't call that 'overwhelmingly non-Christian'.
I understand that religion has nothing to do with morality, but I just thought I should point that out.

Morals have nothing to do with being a Christian.
People have innate codes of conduct that are automatic just like breathing and eliminating the waste from your body.
I'm an Atheist and my morals are equal and in some cases better than some Christians.

Stealing an answer by someone else who said it best:
"It is a common misunderstanding. Many Christians feel they get their morals from their religion. Therefore, by their argument, if you reject the Bible, you reject the morals. They cannot understand that morality is not derived from religion. A great example of this is illustrated when they pick and choose what parts of the Bible they agree with. They are the judge of right and wrong. This shows how there exists a standard of morality that is independent of the Bible."

Australia is a former colony of the UK, so it IS Christian. Even if nobody went to church ever again, it would still have Christian roots.
As for Japan, think of how they were during WW2, and all the atrocities they committed. And think of them now. There's a bit of a difference isn't there? That's because of Western influence (part of which is Christian morality.)

Morals have nothing to do with it. Some non-religious people have much better morals than people who PROFESS to be Christian.
Can you please provide a link to the site that gives statistics on the percentages of Christians in Japan and Australia? I would like to see this info. Thanks!
Acording to this, http://www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/irf/2004/35391.htm
67% of Australians were Christians back then.

As for the sarcasm, I get it. You're saying that some Christians think you have to be a Christian to be moral. That is not true.

Because of the lack of mixed religions there are more morals it sounds weird but look at the maps
ours is the most questioned and we have every religion under the sun in the country.

Christians don't have a monopoly on morals. In fact, there's no correlation between Christianity and moral behavior.

Your question is a leading question. You are implying that only Christian's have morals. You learn morals through growing up. There have been many mafia member who are devout Catholics, who many would consider to not have many morals.

You are confusing Morals with ethics. Ethics are separate from religion, and are based on people treating each other with mutual respect. I find ethics far superior to morality any day.
