Gas burners will give you instant heat, whereas electric burners you have to wait for the element to heat up.

Both will produce the same results, if used properly
Just don't burn anything ;)

I like electric better. Probably because I had an electric stove for 31 years, so I knew how to control the heat. It was even heat too. I have a gas stove now which I hate. I have to guess because it only seems to have 3 settings. Low, Medium, and Scorch. And a breeze from the ceiling fan blows the flame towards one side of the pan and the food on that side cooks faster. And leaving anything on Low, the flame usually goes out. I so want my electric back, I miss my old stove! I knew how to use it!

When I moved out I had an electric stove instead of the gas stove at home. Electric seems like it cooks alot faster than gas. So far, I like it better..

It is just as good. The only difference would be that the electric don't heat up as quickly as gas except for the new flat burner stoves which do.

Personally I prefer electric. It takes longer to get started, but only by about 3 minutes. When it does get to the temperature, it gets to the EXACT temperature/level as written on the dial. Medium heat is the same on all electric cookers. On gas, there is no consistent mark on the dial for "medium".

NNNNOOOO! Gas is way better, for controlling your heat. If you notice all the restaurants have gas for cooking.
It is to easy to burn your food with electric. It takes longer to heat up and cool down, and harder to control the heat. Give me a gas stove any time.

Professional cooks use gas.... when you can see the fire you have a better handle on what you are cooking.

I've had both and much prefer gas. It's easier to control the heat and there are more choices of pans and grills.
