Right on!

People who turn off their brains when they approach God or read the bible do that because they're afraid if they think too much about God, they'll figure out he doesn't exist. It's a basic lack of faith.

My God can stand up to the most probing, most insulting, most ridiculous questions I can ask. What kind of God would He be if he couldn't take questions from a mite like me? I'm not saying reasoning explains everything in nice, neat syllogisms... But lots of questions that fundamentalists avoid can be answered through a little rational thought.

I think God gave us reasoning ability and feelings both for a reason: to learn a good balance of both as we grow and approach Him in our lives.

Faith is needed in all establishment of relationship. When we develop a relationship, our reasoning capability is in full use. But we need faith as the foundation. Knowing God is no different. We do not need to dismiss reasoning capability to have faith. They are not mutually exclusive. I do not need to know everything about a person to make friend, trust and faith does it while reasoning is at work.

If you're trully seeking, sincere and open you will notice that when God created Man - Man was clothed with His Glory or Light if you please. And God gives Him a spirit by breathing His Breathe which is a portion of His Spirit into Adam and Adam became a living soul.

Adam has a spirit in control of his soul which in turn expresses itself through his physical 5 senses - sight, touch, feeling, smell and taste.

Adam as a spiritual being function not by intellect but by his spirit faculty working through his soul by way of the body's 5 senses.

Adam's spirit intuitive and the soul perceived and the mind expressed externally the spirit intuition.

Is that all right with you so far ? Can you follows or is it too deep?

Answer me before I proceed !

I will only continue after laying a foundation before coming to your question and if you don't reply , then forget it !

You may be too shallow in your thinking to ask for a deep answer as you don't have the capacity to take it in !

Waiting for your boastful challenge in your the other posting.

To me, it takes more faith to believe that such a complex machine as the human body was created through natural processes, than to believe that it was designed by an itelligent creator. You are setting up straw men to knock down

Nope. What kind of god would give you the ability to reason and use your mind in EVERYthing in your life, except when it comes to believing in god?

I know that if I were a god, I wouldn't hold up blind faith as a virtue -- people who accept things without question could be duped into anything....

It does sound pretty stupid when you put it that way, doesn't it. I think that I should not laugh with you though, since this post alone could get you everlasting hell.
