I have been on a 1200 calorie/day diet for about 2 months now. I have been working out twice a day(30mins each) every day. I have no lost even one pound. I am gaining a bit of muscle, is this why I'm not shedding the weight? I don't look any different, but I can feel the muscles when I push on it.

I'm sorry, but cleansing is NOT the answer. That is rediculous and unhealthy.

The muscle gain may be it.

I think you aren't losing much weight because of how often you are working out. Start working out three or even four days weekly for about 40-50 minutes.

Maybe it's how you are eating. Make sure you don't consume maybe processed foods high in sodium and cholesterol. Try taking a multivitamin, too. It may be that your body wants more calories. So if what I suggested doesn't work, try increasing your calories by 100-200 and try eating five meals, each meal being about 200-300 calories. That way you aren't really really hungry throughout one part of the day.

Hope that helped.

where did you come up with 1200 cals?

the absolute bare minimum caloric intake is what "your" BMR requires. then depending on how physically active you are daily you may have to increase the cals above that just to lose weight.

most people that are new to exercise or resistance training do not train at a high enough level of intensity to increase muscle mass significantly. if there is any initial weight gain 99% of the time it is due to an increases nutrient uptake in skeletal muscle as insulin sensitivity is increased.

check your cals and remember that the more whole foods that you consume the greater and faster you will see results from exercise
