If you're looking to shake things up, why not try Afghanistan, Iraq, or Iran. Oh wait, no, try North Korea, they love a good engineer from the states.

The state of Euphoria! But if you can't get there, I'd settle for any state that has the lowest state income tax rate (Florida or Texas), I like to keep what I earn.

North Carolina in the Piedmont area. Lots of manufacturing in one area with not nearly enough of engineering to support them. I know many engineers who use this to their advantage by moving to different company's which not only gives them diversity but it also allows them to take control of their salary. It's good to have options.
