Good morning my brothers and sisters. My Bible tells me in Psalms 97:12, "Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name." Whether you know it or not God loves it when we rejoice. He especially loves it when we praise His name. He in fact inhabits the praises of His people. Philippians 4:4 says, "Rejoice in the Lord always. And again I say, Rejoice!" Praise God. God made this verse real to me over the past few months. I think we as Christians tend to rejoice and praise God when we feel like it, or when things are going good. But Paul tells us that we are to rejoice always, in good or bad, rain or shine. I threw shot and disk this year in High School. It was my first year, and I was pretty good. In fact I was on my way to conference, districts, and possibly regionals. But in the middle of this I broke my finger in gym class (I know that sounds funny, but it sucked). That injury sent me to surgery, and pins in my finger for three weeks, taking me out of all of that.

I was pretty mad, but God taught me to REJOICE in all things. I ended up giving praise to God for the pain that this injury caused me. What do you give praise for? What makes you rejoice? God Bless all of you this morning.

There are two questions, if you would like me to restate them then

What do you give praise for?

What makes you rejoice?

It is raining here in the Uk and has done for many weeks.
The weather is disappointing for this time of year, here, but, I choose to rejoice in God my Saviour. My happiness does not depend on circumstances being favourable, my joy is full, for the joy of the Lord IS my strength.
Having a grateful heart makes a difference too.
Please pray for all those affected by floods at this time around the world. Many here in the Uk are affected, and some have been without water and electricity supplies.

Praise You In This Storm by Casting Crowns come to mind.
Before I got married I prayed for confirmation from God that I was to marry my at the time boyfriend. I was not going to persue the relationship until I knew the way God wanted me to go. He gave me Ecclesiates 4:9-12 and two are better than one....and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Well just over the weekend here my husband and I ran into some turbulance and were feeling a bit discouraged about our marriage. Well our marriage counselor not only said it was good that we were attacking these issues up front and head on but at the end of our meeting, he prayed saying..."and a threefold cord is not quickly broken." I completely got chills from that. How could he have known? He said God gave him that verse and although the counselor himself didn't know the significance of that verse he thought it was important to share it. To my husband and I it was confirmation that God wanted this marriage for us. Needless to say it sparked that fire within our marriage and we stand in Christ today with a renewed love for each other and the strength to fight another day. God is good and not only does He hear the cries of our heart but He answers them too. God is awesome and worthy of our praise!!!

Very good!

Turning it over to our Lord, the Good Shepherd, in true faith...
that's what gives us our Hope in the Lord, that we may soar like eagles.

Keep it up. Amen. (Jesus is the Amen. See Revelation.)

I refuse to bow to a egocentric deity who created us for the sole purpose of "praising his name". If I create something I don't need it to praise me, I just like to look at it and show it off, even if it makes fun of me and hates me.
