There are some ships that will take you around the great lakes and the Saint Lawrence Seaway. These are small vessels and in no way compare with the ocean liners and their amenities. For example, the typical ocean going cruise ships these days is 900 to 1000 feet long and has 12 to 14 decks high and carries 1500 to 3500 passengers. Most of the cabins on the newer ships are outside, meaning they either have a window looking out or a balcony/veranda. The closest ports for you in Michigan would be NY City, Boston, or Bayonne, NJ.

By contrast the lakes cruise ships are much smaller and "contains 134 outside cabins, 63 inside cabins and 8 outside suites (2 with veranda's)".
